I Was Done Buying Denim Jackets, Until I Saw This One From Gap

If my past self could see that I've added yet another denim jacket to my collection, she would be in disbelief. But hear me out: Despite already owning a sizable amount of traditional jean jackets, none of them were quite right for my style. They all boasted standard details, with buttons down the front and a mid-length cut. But I rarely wore them because they just didn't pair well with the high-rise bottoms (Jeans! Skirts! Shorts!) that dominate my wardrobe. That all changed, though, when I stumbled upon this Gap Cropped Denim Jacket ($41, originally $70). Its shorter length is a perfect match for my high-rise pieces, and the zipper closure adds a modern twist that I love. And that's just scratching the surface of why I've been practically living in it. Below, I break down everything you could possibly want to know about it in case you want to add it to your summer wardrobe.

What I Love About the Gap Cropped Denim Jacket

Since buying this denim jacket, I've already worn it multiple times, and for the record, I bought it last week. It complements everything in my wardrobe, from my casual work-from-home wardrobe, which is filled with T-Shirts, to the many matching sets I choose for date nights and outings with friends. A perfect example: I'm wearing the Linen-Cotton Ultra-Cropped Cami ($50) and the Linen-Blend Maxi Skirt ($70) in these photos that I persuaded my husband to take of me after wine night.

Another thing I adore about this denim jacket is its comfortable, flattering fit. My previous jackets ranged from being too soft to even resemble denim to so rigid they weren't comfortable to wear. This one is the perfect in-between. It's slim-fitting without feeling tight or constricting, and the fabric - 95 percent cotton and five percent recycled cotton - is non-stretchy and flexible (while still managing to feel soft, not scratchy). I also love its versatility and the fact that it looks chic, whether slightly zippered or fully unzipped.

What's Worth Noting About the Gap Cropped Denim Jacket

I'm struggling to find any drawbacks of this denim jacket because it's exactly what I hoped for and more. The fit is cropped, comfortable, and versatile. I ordered my usual size medium and it runs perfectly true to size. The crop length is just right, hitting directly at mid-hip, in line with my belly button. It's not an extreme statement crop nor a typical length jacket, making it ideal for those looking for one that's only subtly shorter than most. In my opinion, it's best styled baring a hint of skin with a mid-rise skirt, like the one I'm wearing here, or teamed with high-rise bottoms to visually elongate your legs.

Who Is the Gap Cropped Denim Jacket Best For?

This cropped denim jacket is best for those looking for a versatile piece of outerwear that's stylish yet practical. It's especially ideal for those looking for a cropped silhouette that's comfortable and flattering.

Where Is the Gap Cropped Denim Jacket Available?

The Gap Cropped Denim Jacket is available exclusively at Gap.

Going to an outdoor wedding this season and wondering what kind of shoes you're going to wear? You're not alone. Whether you've already RSVP'd to a number of ceremonies or have been asked to be a part of the bridal party, one thing is clear: this wedding season is shaping up to be one of the busiest in recent years. And in order to comfortably get through it, you'll need a solid pair of shoes to wear for it all - especially if you have any outdoor weddings on the calendar. We're suckers for classic pumps and thin, strappy sandals, but the narrow heel can often make your feet sink and get stuck in the ground if you're walking on sand, grass, or dirt.

Rest assured, we know this struggle all too well and curated a guide to the best shoes for an outdoor wedding, with styles that are designed to keep you feeling supported and chic, regardless of the wedding venue or dress code. Whether you want a thicker high heel, are considering going for something classic and practical like a pair of mules, or just want to invest in a few comfortable flats that you can wear for anything, we've got you covered. With brands like Nine West, Jeffrey Campbell, Marc Fisher, and even a few designer picks, there's a style and price point that'll fit your budget and match your outfit. Keep reading to find our picks for the best outdoor wedding shoes you can wear with a dress, skirt, or trousers on the big day and beyond.

The 15 Most Comfortable Heels For Work, Weddings, and More

Forget diamonds: shoes are a girl's best friend. There are endless styles to choose from, and often, a good pair of shoes is the pièce de résistance of any good outfit. While we love the best sneakers and boots, one piece of footwear will forever have our hearts (and pockets): heels. Just as versatile as any shoe, a pair of heels offers a certain level of confidence to the wearer while elevating one's look no matter the occasion, from a casual brunch date to a fancy soirée. But there's a new category of shoes we're most happy to see on our radar, and that's the most comfortable heels you can imagine. We're talking all your favorite styles - stilettos, wedges, mules - but tailor made to provide comfort instead of pain.

Right now, a certain style of shoe is trending - Zendaya's pump of choice - for being gorgeous and famously uncomfortable (so much so that people question whether you can train your feet to wear those high heels). But you can get Zendaya's classic-pump look in a way that protects your feet from pain. Try Cole Haan's Grand Ambition pumps that come with a supportive, anatomically-contoured footbed to pad each step. Sarah Flint offers a stylish pair of pumps featuring arch support and extra footbed padding. And finally, Tamara Mellon's Pillow Top ankle-strap pumps boast an insole with 8mm of high-density foam.

Clearly, more brands are defying the "fashion is pain" stereotype, creating comfortable yet stylish heels like never before. And these comfortable heels aren't just regulated to the low-heel shoe variety. The most comfortable designer heels are having a moment. Think Bottega Veneta's mesh sandals that have dominated the market for nearly four years or the the "ugly" yet snug shoe trend that has seen a resurgence on our social media feed.

And there's also a resurgence in the most comfortable heels for weddings and other fancy outings. Shoppers are opting for strappy heels by designer Amina Muaddi for parties or platform sandals by Flor de Maria for date night. Even in the corporate sector, the most comfortable heels for work are offering more variety than ever with brands like Aerosoles, Everlane, and Sarah Flint. Consider this your sign to trade in your favorite stilettos and power pumps for thick mules and lower heel heights this season.

Ahead, we've curated some of the best shoes that are innovative in silhouette without causing blisters. Seriously, if you're looking for the most comfortable heels for standing all day, look no further. Whether you're on the hunt for a sexy sandal for a summer wedding or the perfect pair of slingbacks for long days at the office, keep scrolling to shop our top picks.

My New Favorite Boots Are the Trendiest Mix of Moto and Country

If scampering around Coachella's polo grounds this year taught me anything, it's that Western looks are in (thank you, Beyoncé), and the trend isn't going anywhere anytime soon. While I wouldn't necessarily find myself donning a cowboy hat on a random Tuesday night before heading out to dinner with my girlfriends, I can absolutely envision myself in a pair of Western-themed boots. Cowboy boots would be an easy choice, but before you hit "add to cart" on the pair you've been eyeing, allow me to introduce you to something I guarantee you're going to like even better.

Free People teamed up with the shoe brand Jeffery Campbell and the leather-goods brand Understated Leather to create the shoe of my (and probably your) dreams. Enter: the Jeffrey Campbell x Free People x Understated Leather Motoboy Boot ($348). Yes, the name is a mouthful, but as soon as I saw a photo of them online, I knew I was going to be obsessed. Ever since I received them, they've had me in an absolute chokehold, and for good reason. The quality is perfection, they're comfortable, and they can be styled with virtually anything in my closet.

They're one part moto boot, one part cowboy boot, and all around great for dancing, walking, and just general frolicking, which I am going to find myself doing a lot of in the coming months.

Keep scrolling to read my full review of the boots I'll be wearing nonstop this summer and beyond.

What I Like About the Jeffrey Campbell x Free People x Understated Leather Motoboy Boots

First and foremost, the number one thing I noticed about these boots when I took them out of their box was the quality. They're made of thick, heavy leather, and I could feel how well-constructed they are as soon as I touched them. However, although they're sturdy, they aren't uncomfortable to walk in. I've found that most boots take a breaking-in period, but I didn't have that problem with these. So far, I've worn them out to dinner, to a concert, and to an outdoor picnic, all with zero issues. I've done quite a bit of walking in them, and I haven't had to deal with blisters or chafing (although I should note that I make sure to wear a pair of thick socks with them).

The design is also utter perfection. They're essentially a motorcycle boot with Western-inspired stitching, which makes them an easy grab when I'm heading out of the house, no matter what I'm wearing. Plus, the harness on the shoes is removable, so if you want to opt for a more pared-down look, you can do that as well. The design is unique enough that I get tons of "where did you get those?" questions whenever I'm out and about, but it's also simple enough to be a staple shoe in my closet.

I haven't yet had a chance to wear them to a festival, but I already know they're going to be my go-to shoe for any occasion where I need to walk a lot and still look fashionable at the same time.

What's Worth Noting About the Jeffrey Campbell x Free People x Understated Leather Motoboy Boots

The boots come in two color options, black and brown, both of which are stunning. I had a hard time choosing between the two options, but I ended up going with black because the majority of my wardrobe is the same shade. If you're having a hard time picking, I'd suggest thinking about what color will go best with the rest of the clothes in your closet.

I was a little stressed when it came to sizing, because I didn't try on the shoes in person, but I went with my typical size 8. The boot fits well, even with a thick sock, but I probably could have sized up half a size for a little more room. Boots are often a hit or miss for me because of the size of my legs, but I still had extra room around my 14.5-inch calves once I slipped these on.

Who Are the Jeffrey Campbell x Free People x Understated Leather Motoboy Boots Best For?

The design of these boots is so versatile that I'd suggest them for essentially anyone. Whether you're looking for comfortable boots you can wear all day long at a music festival, a standout pair to wear to a concert, or boots that match virtually any outfit, these would be my pick. They're the perfect mix of a motorcycle boot and a cowboy boot, and look cute with everything from jeans to dresses to shorts.

Although I've styled them in numerous ways, I think my favorite way to wear them in the coming months is going to be with a pair of boxer shorts, a white tank, and an oversized leather jacket. Casual, but still chic.

Where Are the Jeffrey Campbell x Free People x Understated Leather Motoboy Boots Available?

These boots are available directly on the Free People website, the Jeffrey Campbell website, and the Understated Leather website.

  • These leather pull-on boots are available in sizes US 6-11.
  • They're also available in two colorways: black and silver as well as distressed brown.
  • They feature a square toe, pull straps, a removable harness, and a chunky block heel.
  • A size 7 features an 11.5-inch shaft and a 12-inch leg opening.

I'll Be Living in This Packable Straw Bucket Hat All Summer

Come spring, I'm always excited to shop for new warm weather staples, whether it's a pair of sunglasses or a dress. Sun coverage is a huge factor I consider when getting dressed, especially if I'm going to be outside a lot, and sun hats are an essential part of keeping my rosacea in check. I have hats in all sorts of shapes, from baseball caps to floppy, wide-brim hats that offer varying amounts of sun coverage. I've been searching for a straw bucket hat to add to the rotation but have struck out with styles that are either too droopy or unstructured. I finally tried Madewell's Whipstitched Straw Bucket Hat ($52) and have a feeling I'll be living in it this spring and summer.

What I Like About the Madewell Whipstitched Straw Bucket Hat

The wider, lantern-style brim of the hat actually does a decent job of shading my face. It has just enough structure to hold its shape so that I can actually see from underneath it. Whipstitching is everywhere for spring, and the coloring of this hat offers a hint of contrast without being too busy. The subtle pattern helps it mesh a little better with darker-toned clothes, like these mocha-colored linen pants and black vest, but it looks just as good with a white dress or even jeans and a T-shirt.

If you're a straw hat lover who struggles with packing your hat, this one can be gently nestled into your bag without damaging its structure. One of the draws of this hat for me was that it's labeled as "suitcase friendly" on Madewell's site. I'm used to either wearing my hats or carrying them through airports, so having one that I can easily pack is a welcome change.

What's Worth Noting About the Madewell Whipstitched Straw Bucket Hat

The hat is available in both Alabaster and True Black, both of which are equally cute. I was actually torn between which one to get because I love them both! Some shoppers noted that the hat doesn't hold its shape as well as they'd hoped. The hat is intended to be "perfectly unstructured" per Madewell's description, but I personally find that it has subtle dips and curves that hold their shape for the most part. I'm wearing the small/medium size and after trying on the medium/large, I noticed that the smaller version held its shape a little better.

Who Is the Madewell Whipstitched Straw Bucket Hat Best For?

This design is perfect for someone who is looking for a hat with minimal structure and moderate sun coverage that can be packed in a suitcase without compromising the integrity of the shape. If you want a hat style that feels really fresh for spring, you can't go wrong with this straw bucket hat - especially with its on-trend whipstitched details.

Where Is the Madewell Whipstitched Straw Bucket Hat Available to Shop?

You can grab this hat at Amazon or Madewell.

Additional Details

  • It comes in two sizes: Small/medium or medium/large. I'm wearing the small/medium.
  • It comes in two colors: Alabaster and True Black.
  • It's made from straw.
  • The hat should be spot cleaned.
