No, You Shouldn't Pair Black Accessories With Leopard Print—Wear This Color Instead

As much as we love a little black dress, when it comes to dressing for date night, steer clear of the easy, safe choice. Instead, follow in Hailey Bieber's footsteps and try something a touch more exciting for your next evening out. This week, for example, the Rhode founder was spotted leaving dinner at a sushi spot in L.A. with her husband, Justin. For the occasion, the duo followed their usual sartorial patterns, with Justin dressing casually while his wife debuted something from the rare designer archives. This time, it was a leopard-print Roberto Cavalli slip dress with lace trim and a knee-length hemline. The dress fit like a glove, and the overall look clicked perfectly together thanks to her choice of accessories. Rather than opting for black accessories and shoes—again, the safe choice—she chose to wear rich, chocolate brown instead, including the Ingrid Bag by The Row and a pair of vintage Manolo Blahnik heeled sandals. To complete the look, she added her now-signature oval-shaped diamond drop earrings by Jessica McCormack and her Pocket Blush with the accompanying new carabiner.

Her dress was clearly the star of the look—it is vintage Cavalli, after all. But even the most iconic of dresses can end up looking lackluster without the right accessories. Her decision to steer clear of black and instead accent the animal print on her dress with a more natural shade gave the ensemble a richer, more sophisticated feel. To further emphasize this energy on your next date night, go with leather or satin for both your shoes and handbag. Both have an expensive air to them that will upgrade any look.

Want to Dress Like an Olsen This Fall? Your Wardrobe Needs This, This and This

If your fall 2026 fashion goal is to dress like the Olsen twins, then same. No matter the season, I'm always looking to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen for outfit inspiration. Their style is inherently effortless and polished—the kind of looks that feel completely undone yet somehow always perfectly put together. Every time I see a new photo of them, I add it to my mood board. That's exactly what happened when I came across images of the sisters in NYC today wearing two completely different outfits.

While Mary-Kate leaned into long, loose shorts and Yohji Yamamoto x Adidas Prajna sneakers, Ashley's straightforward denim ensemble really caught my attention. She wore an oversized charcoal-gray V-neck sweater layered over a white V-neck tee and paired with black relaxed straight-leg jeans. On her feet, she wore black toe-ring slide sandals in a sleek, all-leather The Row-coded style, without gold or silver hardware around the toe. To finish the look, Ashley opted for black sporty sunglasses and The Row Margaux bag in smooth black leather.

The good news is that you don't need an all-The-Row wardrobe to recreate the look. The key is to shop for an oversized V-neck knit, dark straight-leg jeans, and black sandals, each in high-quality fabrics with classic silhouettes and cuts. Whether you shop designer or not, the result will be elevated with just the right amount of ease.

That said, if you've been wondering how to master fall dressing in an Olsen-inspired way, now you know. Consider this three-piece formula your shortcut to dressing like one of the twins. Read on to shop the V-neck sweaters, black jeans, and toe-ring sandals.
