Mega Influencer Jeneé Naylor Shares Her Style Essentials, Including a $15 Lipstick

The Expert Edit features interviews with specialists about the products they swear by in their chosen field. For the latest installment, we spoke to fashion and beauty expert Jeneé Naylor about her fashion product recommendations and must haves for maintaining a great wardrobe.

You can't talk about influencers without mentioning Jeneé Naylor. If you're an OG fan like me, you may know her as "High Low Luxxe," the alias under which she creates innovative fashion content, often mixing high-end finds with more affordable pieces. She can sport every outfit combination from a $30 pair of pants from Mango and a Loewe bag to H&M shorts and Yves Saint Laurent sunnies - the "ultimate high-low mixer," as she says. Although her coveted blog still holds this name, Naylor has evolved into one of the most sought-after voices in fashion and beauty, thanks to her decision to leave a career of fashion retail in 2019. Just a little over five years into full-time blogging, she's amassed a following of nearly 1.2 million supporters across her blog, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and most recently, her podcast "Style Unlocked." And she's achieved it all by drawing on her natural inclination to share.

"I always worked in retail in some capacity, but I also just liked sharing," she says. "If you saw me in the mall and you liked my pants, I would tell you where they're from and how much they cost; I love helping people, I love promoting people, and I love elevating people." Naylor's helpful nature has granted her access into some of the industry's biggest rooms, from hosting live shopping events with brands like Hanifa and Nordstrom to designing a collection with Target (the two retailers being her former places of employment).

The biggest fashion tip I always share with people? Loving everything in your closet. [...] If you have things that kind of work, it just gets harder to get dressed because you're working overtime to make that one thing look good; if you have two blazers or dresses that you love, it becomes easier to get dressed.

In a world full of endless trend cycles and short-lived fads, the St. Louis native credits her success to her lasting bond with her community. "Anytime I need motivation or creativity, I go live because I get to connect with my audience; the reason I do what I do," she explains. "I value natural community and ensure that I'm taking care of people in any room I enter, and they take care of me, sending opportunities that I'm typically not looking for and they just make sense. My audience cheers me on, so everything feels like the right place, the right time." And with this ethos, the creator couldn't be more aligned with her purpose.

Her mission is affordable luxury, debunking the myth that great style and luxury experiences are out of reach based on one's income. Through her relatable content that includes product reviews, GRWMs, and a slew of editorial-level photoshoots to admire, she shows her audience that you can have the finer things in life, regardless of your tax bracket. It starts with building a capsule wardrobe you love. "The biggest fashion tip I always share with people? Loving everything in your closet," she says excitedly. "And I know that sounds impossible, but if you really think about it when you are purging things or going through different seasons, no matter what it is, you should really love it. If you have things that kind of work, it just gets harder to get dressed because you're working overtime to make that one thing look good; if you have two blazers or dresses that you love, it becomes easier to get dressed."

Ahead, Naylor shares more brilliant tips for finding (or rebranding) your personal style, her favorite fashion and beauty purchases, and the white tank top she can't live without.

17 Outfit Ideas For Lady Gaga's "Mayhem" Tour - Shop Our Faves as Low as $10

If there's any celebrity you can count on to nail any and every aesthetic, trend, or fad, it's Lady Gaga. The Grammy-winning singer is completely unabashed when it comes to taking risks in her artistry as a whole, but her style, perhaps most of all, knows no bounds. Of course, we all remember her iconic outfit for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards - a dress, hat, boots, and purse made entirely out of raw beef, designed by Franc Fernandez. The look garnered so much attention that it was listed by Time as the top fashion statement of that year (and it has its own Wikipedia page!). Fast forward to present day, and the artist born Stefani Germanotta is still crafting her own lane of style, including her most recent project, "Mayhem," which she'll be taking on the road starting in July.

Apart from the otherworldly visuals, surrealist dance routines, and captivating vocals, you can expect Lady Gaga's tour outfits to deliver just as much drama for us to be inspired by for years to come. In true Gaga fashion, she's created mind-blowing visuals to accompany the album's most major hits, like "Abracadabra." In the video, we see the singer's limitless sartorial abilities even more, namely the custom Samuel Lewis x Suman Gurung x ILONA lace ensemble accompanied by a stiffened, dramatic collar and tiered-train - giving us firsthand inspiration for the tour.

In case Elizabethan-inspired clothing isn't exactly your style, you can take notes from Gaga's previous eras while planning your concert look. Think exaggerated denim and embellished accessories inspired by her "Marry the Night" video, or loud, leopard frocks like the jumpsuit she wore in her and Beyoncé's boundary-pushing anthem "Telephone." And if you can't make a strict decision on which Gaga-approved aesthetic to channel, we've done the legwork and rounded up the best concert outfit ideas for you to shop. From gaudy jewelry to dramatic denim from favorites like Nordstrom and Revolve, these are the best Lady Gaga-inspired fashion finds to get for the Mayhem Ball Tour.

Diaper Shorts Are Back - How to Shop the Controversial TikTok Trend

Of all the street style trends to dominate our FYP and social media feeds in recent years, bloomer shorts seems to be the most bizarre (and ironically one of our top favorites) yet. And who do we have to thank for it? TikTok, of course. In a single scroll on the popular app, you've probably come across the piece multiple times, from those viral Miu Miu briefs to Aritzia's more affordable offerings. Slightly more flirty and risqué than the stomach pudge dress or the fisherman aesthetic, bloomer shorts (aka "diaper shorts") have officially made it to the top of the sartorial food chain.

What Are Bloomer Shorts?

While the idea of bloomer shorts may seem new or daunting at first, they're far from groundbreaking. Similarly to most trends, the good ol' "everything is new again" concept applies here, as the fad dates back to 1850 when the silhouette was invented as a practical solution for women's health and comfort - eventually grabbing the attention of famed suffragette Amelia Bloomer. It wasn't long before she published her approval of them in her newspaper "The Lily," advocating for women to have the freedom to wear what they want. They became controversial since they exposed women's ankles, though they were cut midi-length, directly challenging the gender norms of that time.

Fast forward to present day, and bloomers are still a hot topic of conversation. Aritzia recently released a pair of gray micro shorts that dominated TikTok because of the gathered hem that resembles a diaper. Some users are completely obsessed, while others have expressed their disapproval with comments such as, "That's grandma's undergarments" and "It's recession time." Although the trouser is polarizing, it shows how much bloomer shorts have evolved. Even celebrities like Dua Lipa, Sydney Sweeney, and Anya Taylor-Joy have worn the statement piece, from sporty versions to classic denim styles, showcasing the trend's versatility.

Whether you're looking to upgrade your summer wardrobe or you're curious about the unique trend, keep scrolling to shop our bloomer shorts guide.

I Swore Off Low-Rise Jeans - Then I Tried This Comfy, 2000s-Inspired Pair

Image Source: PS Photography | Haley Lyndes

I'll admit it: low-rise jeans don't exactly inspire excitement. In fact, most people still associate them with the early 2000s - when Britney Spears' butt crack was practically a pop culture mascot. Not exactly a golden era for denim (especially for those of us who tried to pull it off). But here's the thing: the low-rise trend is back, and this time, it's different. Today's version isn't about skin-tight jeans paired with baby tees. It's more laid-back - think beachy, baggy jeans that feel effortlessly cool rather than constricting. That shift alone was enough to get me curious. And eventually, it got me to buy a pair. Enter: Madewell Dean Easy Straight Jeans ($148). The only low-rise jeans I own - and honestly, the reason I'm about to own more. There's something about the cut, the fit, the vibe . . . they just work. I reach for them constantly, and I'm not looking back.

What I Like About the Madewell Dean Easy Straight Jeans

You know the look the second you see them: the relaxed straight leg, frayed hems, a little distressing - these jeans are a total 2000s throwback, but in the best way. They've got that effortless style, but with a looser fit that feels way more current (and way less scary to wear). I throw them on all the time, not just because they're cool, but because they go with literally everything. Blazer and boots? Done. Tank top and Birks? Easy. They somehow manage to feel put-together without trying too hard. And the best part? They're made from 100% Japanese cotton, so they actually hold their shape. No weird bagging, no stretching out. Just great jeans that I can always count on. Not to mention they wash like a dream - I just air dry them, and they're back to looking brand new (but still retro).

What to Consider Before Buying the Madewell Dean Easy Straight Jeans

100% cotton denim definitely isn't for everyone. Personally, I prefer it because it holds its shape for as long as I own the jeans - no sagging, no stretching out in weird places. And over time, the Madewell Dean Easy Straight jeans mold to your body and feel more natural. Still, no stretch means no (immediate) give, so if stretchy jeans are your preference, I'd recommend Madewell Tapered Denim Trousers ($50, originally $148) instead.

Who Are the Madewell Dean Easy Straight Jeans Best For?

If you prefer structure over stretch and appreciate jeans that hold their shape over time, these are for you. They're especially great if you're into relaxed styling - think oversized button-downs, boxy tees, and effortless layers - but still want to look put-together. The low-rise fit and straight leg give off major early 2000s energy, but with a more modern, wearable update. Bonus: they're available in multiple washes and lengths, making them a solid option for a range of body types and personal styles. If you're someone who leans minimalist, likes a no-fuss fit, and doesn't mind a little break-in time, you'll probably live in these.

Are Madewell Dean Easy Straight Jeans Worth the Splurge?

For the price, Madewell is competing with other premium denim brands, and I'd say they've earned their place. These jeans truly deliver on the "premium" label. Not only do they offer a relaxed, timeless style, but they're also made from high-quality Regenagri-certified cotton, meaning they're produced with regenerative farming practices that support environmental sustainability. Beyond that, they hold up beautifully over time. With proper care, these jeans will last for years, both in terms of fit and appearance.

Additional Details

  • Made with Regenagri-certified cotton, produced using regenerative farming practices that promote environmental sustainability.
  • Low-slung fit, sitting comfortably on the hips
  • Available in two washes: Monessen and Shibori.
  • Sizing ranges from 23 to 33 in standard, petite, and tall options.
  • Features a button fly and is machine washable for easy care.

Where Are Madewell Dean Easy Straight Jeans Available?

You can shop these jeans directly from Madewell or at Nordstrom.
