No Need to Thank Me, But I Just Found 30 Pretty Items at Nordstrom and Ref

If there's one thing I love, it's pretty things. What can I say? I'm a Libra, and one of our key traits is a love for beautiful and aesthetically pleasing things. Lately, when I need a fashion fix or am looking to add something pretty to my wardrobe, I go straight to Reformation and Nordstrom. From perfect dresses I can wear through spring and into summer to accessories guaranteed to garner compliments, both retailers have everything I'm looking for.

One of my favorite things about shopping at Reformation is its strong emphasis on sustainability. Not only are the clothes high quality and some of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe, but the retailer cares about the environment and making clothes sustainably. I have also been a Nordstrom shopper for years now, and I have to say the store has been stepping up its game lately. It's added so many brands that are personal favorites of mine, such as House of CB and Cult Gaia.

After a deep dive on both websites, I found 30 items I can't stop thinking about. Keep scrolling to see which items made my list.

J Lo's Latest "Naked" Look Involves a Sheer Blouse and Nude Corset

After a whirlwind start to the week attending the Met Gala in a custom Ralph Lauren Collection gown, Jennifer Lopez switched gears to promote her new Netflix film, "The Mother," on the "Today" show. Lopez worked with her glam squad on the Del Core look, which was both ethereal and on trend in a bright turquoise shade and sourced by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn. The sheer blouse, which retails for $2,775, was layered over a nude strapless corset with structured cups and boning throughout. Lopez tucked the shirt into the nipped waist of a matching leather pencil skirt, which rings in at $3,532. While the free-flowing, asymmetric hem of her top was concealed, the detailed pleating at the shoulders and voluminous bell sleeves catered to her bohemian sensuality, which she showcases for many events, both on and off the red carpet. Lopez accessorized her ensemble with chunky silver hoop earrings, complementary rings, and PVC mule sandals.

Tom Bachik painted her nails, swapping the Chanel-inspired side-tip french manicure she wore to the Met for an ombré translucent effect. Meanwhile, makeup artist Ash K Holm used Jlo Beauty products to employ a darkly lined lip, thick cat-eye, and smoky shadow. Finally, Lorenzo Martin fashioned her hair into a slicked-back bun.

It's not unlike Lopez to multitask when she's in any given city. Just a couple of days before the Met Gala, she wore a Brunello Cucinelli crochet outfit, consisting of a crop top and low-rise skirt, with platforms and a head scarf to do press for her new alcoholic beverage line Delola. She's also working with other brands on their own campaigns, including Coach's Mother's Day ads and Intimissimi's lingerie drops. Most recently, when doing press for "The Mother," she nailed the same aesthetic in a cobalt-blue Alexandre Vauthier Couture dress, teamed with matching satin stiletto boots.

Teyana Taylor Hilariously Hops Up the Met Gala Steps in a Skintight Dress

Sometimes, fashion requires sacrifice, and Teyana Taylor went all in for the 2023 Met Gala. For several celebrities attending the fashion event on May 1, this meant wearing constricting outfits and holding their pee during the entirety of the event. For Taylor, it also meant relinquishing the ability to lift her feet more than a few centimeters. Still, she did look incredible in a structured tweed dress with plunging hip cutouts by Thom Browne.

"Assignment OVERSTOOD!"

An ode to Lagerfeld, the dress resembled a tweed blazer layered over a floor-length skirt with a miniature train and elaborate ties on either side. The top of the piece created the illusion of a white button-up with a pressed collar and a black tie tucked beneath the blazer. She styled the outfit with black sunglasses, glittering Grace Lee jewelry, and a rosette handbag stuffed with Chick-fil-A chicken and waffle fries.

"On Monday's we address her as Petunia Lagerfeld," Taylor captioned photos of herself at the event on Instagram. "Assignment OVERSTOOD! @thombrowne you stole the night you f*cking genius. Thank you for everything. RIP TO THE BELOVED KARL LAGERFELD. I hope we did you proud!"

While making her way up the Metropolitan Museum of Art's impressive staircase, Taylor required help from an assistant who acted as a counterbalance as the actor hopped - both feet in the air - up each individual step. Between the steps, Taylor had to shuffle her heels forward, clinging firmly to her assistant as she planned the trajectory of her landing.

As arduous as the journey was, Taylor made it look like a breeze. She even paused to pose with a hand on her waist halfway up, showing off the dress's gorgeous hip cutouts. So what exactly was the star thinking as she continued her trek to the top of the staircase? "I've got to pee," she told Essence. Luckily for the paparazzi, the constricting ensemble and mother nature calling didn't stop her from doing a quick shimmy dance for the cameras.

Every Makeup Product Kendall Jenner Wore to the Met Gala Was $20 and Under

There were so many stand-out looks at the 2023 Met Gala, and Kendall Jenner was one of them. The model and reality star wore a Marc Jacobs bodysuit, which was complete with black sequins, a bright silver collar, and sweeping floor-length sleeves. However, as beauty editors, we looked beyond her obviously eye-catching outfit to focus on her hair and makeup. The latter was subtle, yet flawless, combining a glowing complexion with fluttery lashes and petal pink lip and cheek colors. Speaking of makeup, you'd expect a celebrity like Kendall Jenner to use expensive, high-end products before walking one of the most anticipated red carpets of the year, but as it turns out, she didn't. In fact, her makeup artist, Mary Phillips, used only drugstore products to create her look, L'Oréal products to be specific. That means that every single makeup product Kendall Jenner wore to the Met Gala was $20 and under. Ahead, see every product. Phillips utilized her viral "underpainting" technique to give Jenner a flawless complexion. First, she used this foundation in two deep shades to outline the perimeters of Jenner's face. This gave her skin a subtle, contoured look before foundation even touched her skin (the point of this technique is to layer products in a specific way to make the skin look as natural as possible).

The underpainting technique isn't complete without placing highlighter under foundation. Phillips highlighted "under the eyes and the center of the face" using this full-coverage concealer.

Once the contour and highlighter were applied, it was time for foundation. Phillips chose this long-wearing one that offers medium to full coverage with a lightweight and breathable texture. She mixed the shades 425 and 455 to mimic Jenner's natural skin tone.

"I then lightly set the skin with the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Vanilla powder foundation," Phillips says. In other words, she used this powder foundation as a setting powder to take away shine while adding a touch more coverage.

To add some dimension to the contours of Jenner's face, Phillips used this bronzer only "on the perimeters of the face and under the cheekbones."

"To bring back more color," Phillips applied this soft pink blush to the apples of Jenner's cheeks.

I know what you're thinking. Why is eyeliner considered to be face makeup? Well, Phillips used this eyeliner to add subtle faux freckles on Jenner's nose and cheek area for an even more natural-looking complexion.

The final step was a little extra highlighter for more radiance. Phillips dabbed this one on the high points of Jenner's face, including down the bridge of her nose.

Philips says the inspiration for her makeup was pulled from Mod '70s makeup, and she wanted the emphasis to be on her eyes. "I started off by using a neutral brown eyeshadow from L’Oréal Paris La Palette Nude in the crease and under the eye," she says."

Phillips went back and forth between using the aforementioned palette and this waterproof liquid eyeliner to create the perfect look. "I then used the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Grip Liner across the lash line and added a flick of a wing at the corner of the eyes. Under the eye, I used a darker chocolate shade on the outer corners and flicked it out. Then the middle of the two wings I used the lightest shade in the palette to emphasize the wings and elongate the eye."

As the final step for Jenner's eye makeup, Phillips used this mascara (which is also a Who What Wear team favorite). Phillips says it adds "instant length and intense color."

When it came to brows, Phillips only used two products. The first was this pencil, in the shade Dark Brunette, which she used to define Jenner's brows.

Then, Phillips "fluffed them up" using this transparent brow gel.

Phillips wanted to create a "natural pouty lip," so she started off by lining Jenner's lips with this neutral-toned liner.

The final step was to swipe on this rosy-pink lipstick, which promises to stay put for up to 16 hours of wear.
