Meghan Markle doesn't shy away from making a statement with her outfits, especially while on her royal tour with Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex has an eye for detail and deep meaning when it comes to her style, and as the tour comes to a close, she continues to impress us with her unique picks.
While in New Zealand, the royal couple visited Te Papaiouru Marae for a formal powhiri, or welcome ceremony, in their honor. For the occasion, the mom-to-be chose a Stella McCartney midi dress (in navy, of course) and matching Manolo Blahnik pumps, along with a beautiful Pounamu necklace from Maori designer Kiri Nathan. The stunning greenstone accessory was presented to Meghan as a gift from New Zealand Governor General Patsy Reddy and holds deep roots in the Maori culture.
According to Kiri Nathan's website, Pounamu is a "highly prized" stone with spiritual significance that symbolizes "status and power." The greenstone, found only in New Zealand's South Island, can be given as a gift to "affirm relationships, peace, love, and safe journeys/life." Check out an up-close look at Meghan's meaningful necklace ahead, along with more snaps of her full outfit.
