I Asked WWW Editors to Dress Up at Home—Their Looks Are Officially Inspiring Me

While working from home, my wardrobe has revolved around cozy loungewear. But the more I’ve been throwing on the same sweats day after day, the more I’ve been wanting to wear other clothes in my closet for a change. So I did. For a day, I set aside my sweatpants and instead put on a pair of loose, wide-leg jeans and a cardigan set. Yes, I’m still prioritizing comfort at home but in a way that feels a bit more polished than the last few weeks. I even followed my regular morning routine by blowing out my hair and doing some easy makeup for a morning conference call with our team.

I personally felt like the act of getting a bit more dressed up at home was an entirely mood-boosting form of self-care, so I asked the WWW editors to join in by putting together their own looks at home. They’re wearing everything from dresses with heels to jeans with tops to sweatpants that feel a bit more refined, and now I’m officially inspired by their cool outfits. Scroll on to see how we’re dressing up at home.

To dress up at home more than my standard sweatpants, I still stuck with something comfortable but a bit more pulled-together: a cozy cardigan set with roomy, wide-leg jeans and boots. I don't know if I'll be sticking with boots on the regular at home, but it sure felt motivating to be a little more pulled-together.
"When Kristen asked us to get dressed up at home, I knew exactly what I would wear. This is the last outfit I bought before my self-quarantine began, and I've been looking for a reason to wear it ever since. I love the lightness of this blazer dress (both in color and material), and these shoes were purchased with the intent to make them my new go-to black sandals for the warmer months. Fingers crossed they both see the light of day again soon!"
"I wanted to be semi-realistic when putting together this dressed-up look while at home. My solution was to figure out how to style my tie-dye sweatpants. I decided to throw on some zebra wedges, a white tank top, and a leather blazer to make a Haley Bieber–inspired outfit. I was shocked by how much better I felt about myself after literally just putting shoes on since my footwear lately has pretty much consisted of socks. The structure of the blazer was also a good reminder of what 'real' clothes look like. Clearly, I was not able to get out of my sweatpants, but I think that was okay."
"Spring is undoubtedly on my mind, so I'm taking any excuse I can find to wear the dresses and sandals that I've recently added to my closet, even if that means the only people to enjoy them are my roommates (and Instagram followers). I have a feeling that this little white dress will become a staple of mine by the time summer rolls around since it's one of those easy throw-on-and-go pieces but feels a little more special with the puff sleeves and ruffle hem. Ankle-tie sandals are another warm-weather piece I'll be living in, especially now that I know how good they look with little dresses like this."
"I actually wore this exact outfit on my anniversary recently and remember thinking that I wish I had a pic. This & Other Stories dress is so fun to wear, and I think it looks so chic with black accessories. It ties in the back for a bit of waist definition, which I appreciate. Sadly, it's sold out now, but this new one is very similar, and I think it might be calling my name as well, despite the fact that I don't have anywhere to wear it at the moment."
"Remember when we wore jeans? Since I basically (used to) live in them, they're the first item I gravitate toward when dressing up. These trending high-waisted flared ones from Slvrlake are my new favorites. I'm teaming them with a whimsical and fun puff-sleeve blouse because I can't get enough pretty puff sleeves in my life."
"For those days when I want to upgrade from my normal sweats, I go for this outfit that's a bit more dressed up. The key is going for those polished separates that are also comfortable, like jogger-inspired trousers with a soft white tee and a blazer. In terms of accessories, I'm into baseball hats (not doing my hair lol) and cool footwear pairings like white socks and loafers."
"My Google Calendar today still shows the lunch plans I had originally made with an old friend who was planning on visiting New York for the first time in years. I figured that just because the lunch isn't taking place doesn't mean I can't spend the day getting dressed as if it were. My legs need a little break from sweats, anyway. Plus, I've been waiting to bust out this dream skirt ever since spring hit."
