Rihanna Channels '90s Grunge in a Sheer Lace Dress at Dior

Since announcing her pregnancy, Rihanna's style continues to push the envelope, rewriting the rules of maternity fashion. Continuing her fashionable Paris takeover, Rihanna attended Dior's fall 2022 runway show in a sheer black lace dress that reminds us why she chose the "Bad Gal" Instagram handle. Donning an all-black ensemble, comprised of a sheer chemise worn over a lace bra and panties set, the singer embraced a goth aesthetic for Maria Grazia Chiuri's catwalk. She finished her look with thigh-high patent leather boots, a leather trench coat, and layers of chain necklaces with a Chrome Hearts cross featured prominently.

From low-slung Y2K-inspired jeans to aMatrix-style latex and lace crop top, Rihanna has owned a series of fashion trends - giving them a uniquely sultry maternity spin. She also previously donned a sparkly shredded pants look, a red-hot head-to-toe leather ensemble, and an iconic vintage Chanel puffer coat that have revolutionized maternity dressing.

The Dior show included several lace silhouettes that resemble Rihanna's goth lingerie set, including two black dresses consisting of a sheer lace top (worn over a bra), a waist cincher, and a fluid skirt. Sticking to a palette of mostly blacks, grays, nudes, and whites, creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri brought her signature touch to an array of goth-inspired pieces. A selection of draped dresses fit well within the usual house codes, while life vest-inspired layers and shredded leather bustiers seemed like new propositions. Other models were clad in denim separates, high-shine puffer coats, and gingham jackets. Overall, the collection felt extremely wearable and elevated, fit for Chiuri's vision of the modern Dior woman.
