The most logical way to bridge summer and fall starts with a specific shoe style. If you guessed mules, I'm happy to say that you're correct. It's simply the ideal sandal-and-flat-shoe hybrid to bridge the gap, and it works equally well for both seasons. It's also the perfect airport shoe, as it's comfortable and keeps your feet covered and can easily be slipped on or off if needed. If you want to take things a step further and talk about the specific mule trend to wear to the airport this fall (and now, of course), look no further than Gisele Bündchen, who was recently spotted at the airport in Rio de Janeiro.
The trend Bündchen wore is boat mules, a backless take on the boat-shoe trend (aka, deck shoes) that gained widespread popularity in recent seasons.
