I'm an Editor With a Specific Wish List—8 Niche Items I'm Itching to Buy

A perk of being a fashion editor is that you know exactly what you want at any given time. It's just the result of fashion being in our faces almost 24/7. We seem to always know what we want, what we need, and what we immediately want to add to our closets. When it comes to what's on my personal wish list this spring, it's certainly no different. I'll be the first to admit that I'm highly specific. I don't want just any jeans—I want jeans that are slightly nipped at the waist, that fall just over my toes when I'm wearing heels, that are baggy but not so baggy that they resemble parachute pants. See what I mean? As I fully transition into a "spring is here" mindset, I have a clear vision of exactly what I want to look like and the pieces to help get me there.

The items featured in this piece are those that I covet aggressively until they either go on sale or I'm bold enough to ignore my budget and finally make the purchase. They also check off some immediate wardrobe needs, like an everyday skirt for my daily uniform and cool sneakers to liven up my collection of cargo pants. Though they're extremely specific, I have a feeling you'll enjoy them too. To see the full list as well as some equally solid alternatives, keep scrolling below.

Lexxola always manages to make sunglasses that I instantly want, which is a rarity since I own so many and am extremely picky about silhouettes that I like. So it was no different when its Lulu frames—a curvaceous take on the aviator—dropped.
These earrings famously have a long wait list, and you can count me as one of the people on it. Since they started to gain buzz last year, Bottega's Drop Earrings have been an accessory high on my wish list. They're a piece I call an "outfit definer," a statement piece so strong that it sets the tone of any outfit it's included in.
The first time I saw SiedrĂ©s's Gaia dress, it made my jaw drop. It's not like midriff cutouts aren't trendy—the detail is virtually everywhere—but the silhouette of this cutout was so unique it was unlike anything I've ever seen. The overall shape is so cool too. You can dress it up or dress it down, as seen here.
Magda Butrym has single-handedly made the rosette trend a force this season. From the brand's bodysuits to its swimwear and dresses, roses have become a signature of its romantic, dressy staples. This bodysuit hasn't left my brain since I spotted it a few months ago, so I knew it would be a go-to for my warm-weather looks.
If you didn't know, I like divisive sneakers. If they're loud and borderline "ugly," I'm all over them. Nike Air and Yoon Ahn's latest collaboration called the Adjust Force is like an edgy basketball sneaker style that's really unique. The shoes come in several colorways, but this cerulean blue has my heart.
Girls love Mirror Palais—it's pretty much a fact. Designer Marcelo Gaia just knows how to make clothes that women want, figure-hugging pieces that celebrate the body. Gaia's Ballet Dress is a slip dress with lace-trimmed cups that's simple yet seductive. With dress season in full swing, my instincts are telling me I'd want to wear this every day.
The Miu Miu effect is real. It's been years since I wore a plaid skirt, but Miuccia Prada's recent preppy influence has led me to buy banker's shirts and Mary Jane shoes in multiples. Next on my list is a plaid skirt, and Danielle Guizio's classic midi version is simply perfect in every way.
It's impossible not to love Diesel after Glenn Martens's revamp as creative director. There's a youthful edge with a sprinkling of Y2K energy in Martens's collections, including this nougat-colored leather two-piece set. While I very much would love to buy the whole thing, I'm starting it off with the jacket. The contrast paneling adds a shapely silhouette that makes this jacket also super flattering.
